On the Reattas with the touch screen you can verify the mileage by reading out the VIN from the CRT and then compare it to the VIN near the windshield. The mileage is stored in a chip in the BCM. The BCM also stores the VIN.

If the VIN in the BCM matches the one by the windshield the mileage is correct

Here is how to check the VIN in diagnostics

Enter diagnostics. When the code check completes go to the BCM section. Then say NO to all the options until it asks "Display VIN". Select YES. The VIN will be displayed on the CRT. .

You cannot do this on the '90-'91 models. The VIN will not read out where the odometer normally is.
